OUR STORY

Where heritage meets now.

Born in Jaipur. Rooted in centuries of Indian craft. Made for the world.

Swarna Mitra was founded in 2023 with one conviction — that the extraordinary artistry of Indian jewellery traditions deserves a place in the modern wardrobe. We bring Polki, Kundan, temple work, and gemstone jewellery from both North and South India to you, with the care these crafts deserve.

THE SWARNA MITRA STORY

A new voice for an ancient art

The name means "friend of gold" — and friendship, above all, is what drives us. A friendship with the artisans who spend lifetimes perfecting a single craft. With the brides who want jewellery that carries the weight of tradition without the weight of the world. And with customers everywhere who deserve to own something real and extraordinary.

Founded in 2023, Swarna Mitra set out to bridge two worlds: the extraordinary living traditions of Indian jewellery — Polki from Rajasthan, Kundan from Mughal ateliers, temple jewellery from South India, gemstone work from Jaipur — and the ease, trust, and transparency that modern online shopping demands.

"Every piece we create carries a story older than us. We are simply its newest chapter."

We are a young brand, but the crafts we work with are centuries old. We take that responsibility seriously — which is why we work directly with master karigars, photograph every step of production, and stand behind every piece we sell.

LIVING CRAFTS

The traditions we carry forward

Each technique in our collection is the product of generations of mastery. We work only with artisans who have inherited these traditions and dedicated their lives to perfecting them.

Polki

Uncut, flat diamonds set in gold foil — the oldest form of
diamond jewellery in India. Polki pieces have adorned Mughal
royalty for centuries. Each stone is unique; no two pieces are ever
identical.

Kundan

Gemstones set into pure gold using lac as a base, a technique that originated in the Mughal courts of Jaipur and Delhi. The resulting pieces have a luminous, jewel-like depth found nowhere else.

Temple jewellery

Inspired by the divine iconography of South Indian temples — Lakshmi, Saraswati, dancing figures — temple jewellery is as spiritually significant as it is beautiful. Traditionally worn by classical dancers and brides.

Jaipur is the gemstone capital of India. Our pieces feature emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and semi-precious stones cut and set by craftsmen who have spent decades mastering their art in the city's workshops.

Gopesh Sethi

Gopesh Sethi

Founder & CEO of Swarna Mitra

Gopesh Sethi, born in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, grew up within a family deeply rooted in jewellery craftsmanship. Early exposure to South Indian traditions shaped his appreciation for temple jewellery and the discipline of traditional karigari, while his family’s connection to Jaipur introduced him to its rich ecosystem of master karigars and gemstone artistry.

Swarna Mitra is Gopesh’s way of bringing these two influences together. He carries forward his family’s jewellery legacy while reinterpreting it for today’s world through 925 sterling silver, making traditional craftsmanship more wearable, personal, and relevant.

His vision is simple: to preserve the depth of Indian jewellery traditions while giving them a contemporary form that fits seamlessly into modern life.

Aman Lekhi

Aman Lekhi

CMO & Sales

Born and raised in Jaipur, Aman Lekhi brings a designer’s eye and a marketer’s instinct to Swarna Mitra.

With a background in Design from Symbiosis University, Pune, and experience in marketing, he approaches jewellery with a contemporary lens—focusing on how it is styled, experienced, and perceived by a new generation. As CMO, he leads marketing and sales, shaping how the world discovers the brand’s silver jewellery.

Rooted in Jaipur’s jewellery heritage yet distinctly modern in taste, Aman reinterprets tradition through design, storytelling, and visual culture. His work defines a new language for silver jewellery—refined for occasion wear, effortless for everyday use, and personal in expression. At Swarna Mitra, he goes beyond marketing to create desire and make silver feel contemporary, aspirational, and relevant.

OUR PROMISE

Every piece, made to be passed down

We believe jewellery is not fashion — it is memory. Our promise is that every piece leaving our hands is worthy of becoming an heirloom.
